Using the AI Chat Assistant

The AI assistant helps you build and analyze models using natural language.

Open the Chat

  • Click the chat icon

  • Or press:

    • Mac: Option + C

    • Windows: Alt + C

What You Can Do

You can ask the assistant to:

  • Populate assumptions from documents

  • Explain formulas or outputs

  • Adjust inputs (e.g., “set entry multiple to 10x”)

  • Model scenarios

  • Suggest formulas

Upload Files for Analysis

Supported formats:

  • Excel / CSV

  • PDFs

  • Images (PNG, JPG)

To upload:

  1. Click the paperclip icon

  2. Select a file

  3. Add instructions

  4. Send

Tips for Best Results

  • Be specific (case, year, line item)

  • Review all AI-generated values before saving

  • Use clean, structured files for better parsing

Limitations

  • Works in one model at a time

  • No access to external data unless integrated

  • Chat history is not saved across sessions
